ACCEPT Romania: Shelter for LGBTIQ+ Ukrainians
A safe space for queer refugees from Ukraine in Romania.
ACCEPT Romania is the first human rights NGO in Romania to defend and promote LGBTIQ+ rights at national level. Since the war in Ukraine started, the organisation helps LGBTIQ+ refugees from Ukraine.
The organisation provides short-term shelter, and legal and psychological aid, for the refugees. Besides that they cooperate closely with organisations in Moldova, where a lot of the refugees, especially from Souther Ukraine, arrive. Through the rainbow.whodis.org platform, they have worked closely with another LGBTIQ+ refugee center in Amsterdam.
Forbidden Colours is proud to support this project financially and logistically. Through our ‘rainbow.whodis.org’-platform, a more sustainable solution could be found for several refugees.
